PowerEnc

While they are still widely used, audio CDs are slowly becoming obsolete. iPods, MP3 players and other mobile devices are smaller and easier to carry around and they have a larger storage capacity. If you want to switch from your old CD player to one of these new devices, you can use PowerEnc to rip the contents of your audio CDs, so you can play them on a computer, an MP3 player and so on. Additionally, you can use this application to convert audio files, using various formats.

The first advantage is the fact that PowerEnc's files can be extracted directly from a 2.1 MB archive, so there is no need to go through an installation process. The software works with all modern Windows platforms and there are no special requirements to meet.

You may convert your music or rip audio CDs on different tabs. The procedure is straightforward, regardless of what task you want to perform. Simply load your files in the software's interface, select an output path and a format and hit the Start button, located in the upper right corner of the window. PowerEnc is capable of converting audio files to and from MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC and other formats.

When loading an audio CD, the software will detect and list its contained tracks automatically. Before processing an audio CD, you can make the same output settings and select individual tracks, if you don't want to rip the entire CD. Additionally, you can add tag information, comments and covers for selected files. This can be done on the same interface, after clicking a button, located in the lower right corner.

The software lets you configure each output format, on a separate window. You will find different options, depending on the format. For example, if you select the MP3 format, you will be able to select a different bitrate, a channel mode, frequency and more.
